Walking in the Spirit

Walking in the Spirit

To walk in the Spirit (Galatians 5:16) is to live in conscious communion with God's presence. It begins with surrender – exchanging our agenda for His. The Spirit guides through Scripture, promptings, and godly counsel, helping us discern truth in confusing times. This walk produces tangible fruit: love that serves, joy that perseveres, peace that calms storms, patience in trials, kindness to enemies, goodness in temptation, faithfulness in commitments, gentleness with the vulnerable, and self-control over impulses. It requires daily dying to fleshly desires – pride, lust, anger. Like Paul, we may struggle (Romans 7:15), but the Spirit empowers victory. Practical steps include prayerful mindfulness, worship throughout the day, and immediate repentance when we stumble. As we yield, ordinary moments become sacred encounters.

"For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart."
Hebrews 4:12
